Wonderful experience as always. Amy Nelson and her nurse Lori are absolutely amazing. It is rare to find such a compassionate provider/ nurse anymore. I have noticed most providers are more worried about the number of patients they see in a day and getting in and out the door as fast as possible. Amy takes the time to talk to you, and actually listens. I never leave without feeling I had the best care. Her nurse and her are truly a great team!!.

Let me start off by saying that I had a wonderful experience at Avera in Brookings, but the front desk staff at the clinic need attention.
That being said, every other doctor and staff member I've interacted with at Avera has been fantastic, and I've always left their office feeling reassured and confident in their quality of care.
I think we have great doctors and nurses who are veer good at what they do. Yep...lots of humans working there and sometimes things happen. Working with the public is one of the hardest jobs there is...I think they do a great job. They're dealing with people who don't feel good for the most part so sometimes they may appear crabby...just give them a smile and be nice...it will change your experience!
I was sent over by the hospital to have a mammo done following a procedure. The gal who helped me doesn't even look up from her computer and goes "...no. you'll have to come back at 4pm." I said that doesn't sound right, because the hospital just told me to stop by 5 minutes ago. She just sighed, says "...k", and clicked around on the computer for about a minute while another employee sat back in her chair and stared at me, open-mouthed. A third employee finally pipes up and goes "What are you here for again?" I repeated myself. "Oh. Yeah. We can get you in now" and prints off my paperwork while the one employee keeps staring at me and the other one at her computer. It may not sound like a major deal, but I felt pretty uncomfortable/frustrated right from the start.
